SAM INSPIRE Cambodia has recently hosted a small company and family company retreat trip to a coastal area of Koh Rong and Koh Rong Sanloem in Sihanoukville, Cambodia.
The Day 01 of the trip began with a budget flight from Siem Reap Angkor International Airport (SAI) in Siem Reap, Angkor Cambodia to Kang Keng Airport or Sihanoukville International Airport (KOS). We had a pre trip overnight on the mainland Sihanoukville to get ready for catching the speedboat to Koh Rong the next day.
Our Day 02 conveyed with embarking on Speedboat trip toward our main beach and island destination of Koh Rong.
We arrived at the pier after around 1 hour drive. We disembarked the boat and walk on the seaside to our hotel bungalow called Scarlet Sail Resort. We checked in to our private villa and start our beach and island party right away.
Our party day continued until almost overnight in the resort restaurant on the main beach. We ended our heavy day with a peaceful over night sleep.
Day 03, today we had our beach escape trip by taking a private fisherman boat from our Bungalow resort to the neighboring island of Koh Rong Sanloem.
After boating around 30 minutes we arrived at our hook fishing spot where we started our fishing activities.
The fishing was so productive. We got a lot of sea fish which allow us to cook freshly on board of the boat. What was sad, after our lunch time, our boat got stuck by a big and heavy abandon net. But luckily there was another boat helped to pull ours to the land side where we could free our boat from that huge net. After getting our boat to work again, we continue our trip to discover the amazing colourful Corals by doing Snorkelling.
One we had spent enough time exploring the underwater lives and nature at the conservation area at Koh Rong Sanloem. We had back to our resort on Koh Rong island. This evening we continue our party again and overnight.
Day 04, since we have seen much of island, today we headed back to the main land of Sihanoukville. We booked our hotel at Otress beach area which is more calm and beautiful on Sihanoukville. With our open-date-and-time-return speedboat tickets. We just simply checked the speedboat schedule and get ready to get on the boat the pier. Please note that we cannot pre-book the seat and time, they will on treats First come, First serve. From the boarding procedure, we lost our first scheduled boat due to the fullness occupancy, and we only catched the next ones. Upon arriving back to the dock on the mainland, our awaited driver and friend Mr. Soeun 012 826 736 picked us up and drove us to our hotel on Otres beach. This evening, we could have a proper party due to heavy rain and the restaurant at our hotel is not party friendly. Therefore we stayed healthy for one last evening.

Our last day of trip, Day 05, today we just had our proper breakfast and Soeun came to pick us up and brought us to the airport. Due to the time permitted, we could stop at the Chheu Cham Phdey which is a tree in the middle of a street literally meant “Hasband-Awaited-Tree”.
Lastly we stop at Preah Thoung Toung Sbai Neang Neak which is a tall status of Preah Thong and Neang Neakii symbolises the birth of Khmer land, culture, traditions and civilisation of Cambodia. The statue is 21 metres tall, on a pedestal 6.34 metres high (27.34 metres in total), and weighs 60 tonnes, being the largest copper statue in Cambodia, facing the sea.
We arrived back at Sihanoukville International Airport (KOS), goodbye to our friend, Soeun and proceeded to check in and flight back to Siem Reap, home sweet home.
